So much to knit, so little time...

All of the suden I started two more projects... The spree sweater is in sewing process... and I have a stach calling my name... What to do ???? Today I got knew magazines and I had such a great time looking at them, more ideas came to my head. STOP! I need to finish at least two of the projects that I have before starting one more... I will really try to stick to one project at a time...

I feel like it is Christmas! I got my patterns from Sirdar and the skein that I needed to finish my Spree Sweater! I am so exited! I don't even know which pattern to knit first...

Me wearing my new top

Here is a picture of me wearing my Van Dyke Stitch Top, believe it or not it was my little Rachel that took this picture. Esta soy yo con mi nueva blusa de putnada Van Dyke. Aunque no lo crean fue Rachel la que tomó esta foto.

I made two modifications to the original pattern by Thaki. The shoulder strap was supposed to be a cord, I left it streight because I like the wide strap so it can cover my bra... Also, I made a shell edge using this patter of chochet: *skip 2sts, 3dc in next st, 2dc in next st, skip 2 sts, sl st in next st, rep from *. I aded this edge because I felt that edge needed something else, and also to make the top a bit longer. :-)

The top if finally ready !!! This top can be made with any chunky cotton. I used two strands of Bernat Cotton Tots held together. It took me two weeks to get it done...(Rachel took this picture) My blusa está por fin lista! Se puede hacer con lana de algodón gruesa. Yo use dos hilos de algodon delgado a la vez de la marca Bernat Cotton Tots. Me tomo dos semanas para terminarla (Rachel fue la que tomó esta foto).

Current Project: This is my current project. Don't you guys just hate blocking??? I wander if other people hate it as much as I do. This is a summer top that I saw on a Thaki yarns book. I was very frustrated because the lace pattern did not work out. Sure enough there was a mistake in the pattern. Luckily, I found the pattern in the internet for free with all of the corrections. It is available at http://secure.elann.com/ShowFreePattern.asp?Id=7024

This is the other part of the mothe's day present. It is a scrap book album. I am going to keep a track of all of my projects with it. I plan to include pictures of my projects, information such as material used, (maybe a copy of the pattern), day that I started the project, day that I finished the project, etc... I am so exited !!! I can wait to start working on it!

Mother's day present. I got me these beautiful yarns for mother's day. It is a bunch of Sirdar yarns; Spree (chunky cotton), Breeze and Pure Cotton. I plan to make some beatiful tops with it. I got patterns for these yarns at marvis.com an e-store located in England. These yarns where purchased here in town at 30% off, Woowhoo!

Beaded bag. This is bag goes with a lace top. It is made with pure silk. It was a joy to work with this project. I designed the bag with the left over yarn after making the top.

This is the poncho as seen in the cover of KNIT IT Magazine. It was my first succesful lace project.

These are Rachel's crochet chicken slippers. I made them with Caron acrylic. She used them so much that now they have a huge hole in the sole... LOL

This is a bag that I made with chunky cotton last summer (2004). It was also presented at the Kern County Fair but did not win any prizes. :-(

This is a cute vest that I knitted after the cabled sweater, maybe in 2003. It is pattern from a book called "25 Easy sweaters for the brand new knitter" or something like that. It is also made with Red Heart.

This is a cabled sweater that I made for Rachel about 3 years ago. (2002) It is a Debbie Bliss design and I made it from cheap acrylic yarn. It was my first serious project in years. What I like about Debbie is that their patterns for kids are intended to be worn loosely, thus allowing the child to wear the item for several years. This sweater still fits!

This is Rachel wearing the beaded top. She loved it !!!

This is a beaded top that I made for Rachel last Summer. It got 2nd place in the Fair for children's clothing cathegory. It is made out of Sugar Cream Cotton yarn and the design is mine.
