Sock Progress

This Memorial weekend has been very nice and relaxing. I have done a lot of cleaning in the house and I was able to work in my sock today. I finished the foot and turned the heel. I love the yarn. The pattern I am using is exactly what I was looking for; it has texture and lace together and the look is really pretty. The fitting is perfect as well.

Bolero

This is the bolero I am making. In fact, I started this last summer. I am trying really hard to finish my U.F.O.'s (Unfinished Objects). I have way to many projects waiting to be knitted. I am getting pretty desperate with this one, as I really want to start something else. Right now, I am knitting the edge which needs to be knitted separately and I think I am almost done.

Trip to Handford

Yesterday we went to Handford. I am still not quite sure of the location of this city... But it is a cute little town. We took the Amtrak train and travel there for the day with R's class. She had so much fun! They had a Merry-go-around and the kids also got a ride on an old Fire Engine. The kids had such a great time. It was awesome! I was able to knit in the train so I made some progress on my sock. I really, really love this cascading leaves pattern. It is not too hard and easy to memorize. The sock is looking good!

Bad week for knitting...

I am so confused with my knitting. I want to use circular for my socks, so I am waiting for a pair I ordered. The tea cozy is just not working out... I think I am going to frog it...
Today I deep clean my bedroom. I couldn't belive the amount of trash that came out of my office drawers... I would be embarrassed to show you... so I did not take a picture.
The good news is that now I got two empty drawers to stuff with yarn.

Two new projects...

I started two new projects. A teapot cozy in Kureyon, which I need for a birthday present next week and another pair of socks. The tea cozy if from Knitty
The sock pattern I am using is Wendy's Generic Toe Up.

Mother's day...

This was the best mother's day ever...The celebration began yesterday with dinner at my favorite restaurant and a movie "SPIDERMAN III". It is really good. A bit complicated because there is a lot going on... but I don't want to ruin it for anybody so I won't comment on the details. I liked it though.
Then this morning my husband walk me up with a breakfast... a sandwish right out of the movie "Spanglish"... you would have to watch the movie to understand.

Then my baby came back from the grooming salon:

Mom, look! Do you like my bows ????
Mami cómo me veo? Te gustan mis lazos?

Don't I look pretty ???? Verdad que me veo divina ???

Then, I had to install a net around the air conditioning. Daisy bit on it a little bit yesterday. Not as bad as Wishbone did, but we could not risk it for Daddy to deport her back to the pawn... So mommy went to Home Depot, got some materials and started working...

Mom, I didn't do it , I swear...
Mami te lo juro, yo no fuí...

Then, some Ju-Jit-Su practice at the park:
luego práctica de Ju-jit-su en el parque

When I got home a present was awaiting me. A 2GB flashdrive! Just what I wanted!

I also got two beautiful hand made cards from both of my daughters...

This is why...

This is the reason I haven't been knitting these days...

Wishbone ate our air conditioning host and electric cables and that was the last straw. Sorry, we took him to the pawn. We just couldn't deal with it for another year and a half. He was destroying EVERYTHING!

But... we did find a gourgeous dog and adopted her the same day. Her name is Daisy and I am so head overheals for her that I have been petting her and bruching her all day long... So, no knitting...

Here she is with me and my mother in law. We think she is a mix of Retriver and Aussie (Australian Shepard). She looks like a Retriver but her tail is short and her personality is very shy both of which are caracteristics of the Aussy.

She came home with a cough so I used the cupon they give you at the Animal Shelter to take her to the Vet. She did have brochitis so we came back home with antibiotics.

She is the friendlyier dog I have ever met. She has not attempt to bite or make bitting sounds at all. She didn't even bark for the first week. Now she barks a little (when needed) and she is digging a little... and she seems to be getting adapting to her new life with us. She seems much happier. At first she was so still and quiet that I was afraid she was sick or something.

I love this dog. I think it is amazing how God created these creatures to fulfill our need for giving love and protection.
