A couple of thoghts on chelation therapy and biomedical intervention

This post has nothing to do with knitting. I haven't been knitting a lot lately... I finished the back of the top on Saturday but I haven't had the chance or energy to sit down and put it together. The straps are kind of tricky because one is longer than the other one supposesely to use the excess strap as a trim for the back...So I haven't figure that one out yet...

Last week I started my chelation therapy. The reason I am doing it is because my urine test was sky high on mercury, and mercury poisoning really bad for all of your body affecting pretty much all systems, enzyme production, etc. So, you chelate for 3 days and rest 11 days, and then start the cycle all over again. I felt sick while doing it. My body smelled really bad... my breath smelled really bad just like the chelation medicine. My husband said that the house stunk!

The cool thing is that I feel great! I notice changes in my body, stuff that didn't happened for many years... when I was 20... OK, let's leave it at that. I am exited because this is only my first round... I am suppose to keep doing it for a year! I can only imagine how good I am going to feel when I am done.

I am also doing the BIO-IDENTICAL hormone therapy, which is awesome! That took care of my depression, headaches and modds...

On the other hand R started to be part of study on Hyperberic Oxigen Therapy and its effects on Autistic kids. I have to drive her there every day... We still don't know if she is a placebo or not, but I am exited about that too. I can't wait for her to finish, so I can start the chelation therapy with her...

If you are sick and tired of mainstream medecine that treat the symptoms with drugs but don't look at the source of the problem, look for an ANTI-AGING CLINIC or doctor. They will treat the cause of your health issues naturaly without drugs. It's great! In the case of autistic kids, the biomedical doctors are called "DAN" doctors.

Vogue Knitting Top

The front is done! I am working on the back. I am sure I will not need the off shade ball after all. Hhooo! that is a relief!

I wasn't able to post because my internet connection got messed up and I had to wait for the cable people to come and fix it. It is amazing how much you depend on the internet nowadays... I was getting a bit anxious to get it fixed.

Top progress

This is how much I was able to knit with two balls of Brilla. I am hoping 5 balls will be enough to finish the top so I don't have to use the off-shade ball. I already started the armhole shaping and I am about to start the neck shaping. The back does not have as much ribbing, so it should take less yarn.
I am concerned about the size because this looks very little, although, the fabric is very stretchy so it might be OK. If nothing else I might have to go on a diet to fit into it which is OK because I am about 8 pounds over what I should be anyways.

Dye lot nightmare...

I usally don't worry about dye lots. Nowadays with the technology, the yarn is always the same color or the difference is not noticeable. I ordered one extra ball of Brilla for my top and when it arrived I was so disappointed. Look how different the shade is:

The ball on the top is the new ball. Not only the dye lot is different but this yarns have a complete different label design:

This is how much I was able to knit with one ball. I hope that if I am lucky I won't even need the additional ball, but if I do, I might try the trick of knitting with two balls alternating the dye lot to blend the colors in. I don't know, we will see. So far, Brilla seems to be discontinued. This ball was really hard to find, so I am not even going to try to find the same dye lot. I will see what I can do with what I have.

New Project...

Since I can't keep working on my sock, I decided to start a new project. This is a top from Vogue Knitting Spring/Summer 1998.
I am using Filatura Brilla in a pale yellow. I felt in love with this yarn last year. It is the coolest yarn I have ever used as far as it been light and not warm at all. In fact, I preffer this yarn to pure cotton.

New water fountain...

This is my new water fountain. It is great for knitting and pretending you are next to a river and it is not almost 100 degrees outside... Imagination is the only thing that gets me through this horrible summer days in what we like to call... "the arm pit of California"

Status of socks

I absolutely love my socks! One is done and the other one is half way through. Unfortunately, R' broke my bamboo needles while jumping on the bed. So, I can't keep going... I might try to keep going using my circular needles... But I am going to have to order more of these great bamboo needles from China. They are awesome and you can get all sizes of circular or double pointed for only a couple of dollars on Ebay. There are several sellers that have them. I have used Joycesuperstore

Me fascinan mis medias!

Lazy Summer

With over 90 degrees and no breeze at all, the lazy summer is here...
As you can see people around here get drowsy and lazy.
CON MAS DE 90 GRADOS EL PESADO VERANO YA ESTA AQUI. COMO PUEDEN VER LA GENTE AQUI EN ESTA CASA ESTA PEREZOSA Y DORMILONA...

New Books

I got two new books this week. Favorite socks which is a compilation of sock patterns from Interweave Knits Magazine, and Sensational Knitted Socks. Both are beautiful books. I can't wait to knit socks from both pattern books. I personally think that Sensational Knitted Socks is a better value because it has more patterns and they are all very practical, while Favorite socks contains some folk patterns that are not of my liking. There are only about 6 or 7 patterns that I really like out of the 25 published in this book.
ESTOS SON DOS LIBROS QUE COMPRE ESTA SEMANA. AMBOS SON LINDISIMOS PERO EL PRIMERO; MEDIAS SENSACIONALES, ES MEJOR PORQUE TIENE MAS PATRONES Y LOS DISENOS SON MAS PRACTICOS. EL OTRO LIBRO SOLO TIENE 6 O 7 DISENOS QUE ME GUSTAN.

R's Graduation

Yesterday we had R's Kindergarten graduation. It was so beautiful. What a difference does it make to be in a Christian school! Rachel danced on stage and sang praise songs. She did great when the pastor came to stage and asked the children some questions. We couldn't be happier with her progress.
We also had M's graduation on Thursday. Unfortunately, it was in a football field with other 600 and something students. Which is why it was impossible to take pictures. We were equally happy to see M graduating. This has been a tough year for her and there were moments when I was a bit afraid that she was not going to be able to make it. But praise God she did!
AYER TUVIMOS LA GRADUACION DE R Y EL JUEVES FUE LA DE M. ESTAMOS MUY ORGULLOSOS DE AMBAS. ESPECIALMENTE DE M PORQUE ESTE FUE UN ANO DIFICIL PARA ELLA Y DEBO CONFESAR QUE TENIA MIEDO A VECES DE QUE NO IVA A PODER GRADUARSE PERO GRACIAS A DIOS ASI FUE... NO PUDE TOMAR FOTOS DE M PORQUE LA GRADUACION FUE EN UNA CANCHA DE FUTBOL AMERICANO EN MEDIO DE CASI 700 ALUMNOS ASI QUE FUE IMPOSIBLE TOMARLE UNA FOTO CON MI HUMILDE CAMARA DIGITAL. RACHEL CANTO Y BAILO EN LA TARIMA JUNTO CON SUS COMPANERITOS CANCIONES CRISTIANAS DE ALABANZA. TAMBIEN RESPONDIO MUY BIEN CUANDO EL PASTOR LE HIZO UNAS PREGUNTAS CON EL MICROFONO. QUE DIFERENCIA MAS GRANDE ES ESTAR EN UNA ESCUELA CRISTIANA, ES INCREIBLE. LA CEREMONIA ESTUVO PRECIOSA!

Vogue Knitting Bolero by Gayle Bunn

Date Completed: 6/2/2007
Pattern Design: Gayle Bunn for Vogue Knitting Spring/Summer 2005
Yarn Used: SARI combed cotton Color 253
Source: Elann
Comments: This bolero requires firm pressing after finishing for shapping. Be careful to do it on the back of the fabric and using a cloth to avoid burning the cotton yarn.
